THIS WEEK: Leaders are Stable; Gold Medals and German Shepherds
Welcome to Tuesday Training Podcast…a conversation and collaboration between Army National Guard Recruiters.
This week, because of your efforts, lives will be changed, legacies will be started and generations will be impacted. What you do matters…..you make a difference.
It is always good to review episodes from previous July training. Episodes 77 and 78 from July 2016 with Dave Eustice are excellent. Go back and review these episodes on preparing for the new year.

STABILITY
5-18. Effective leaders are steady, levelheaded when under pressure and fatigued, and calm in the face of danger. These characteristics stabilize subordinates who are always looking to their leader’s example— Model the emotions for subordinates to display—calm and rational under pressure. Do not give in to the temptation to do what personally feels good. If under great stress, it might feel better to vent—but will that help the organization?

Chapter 3 Review: Gold Medals and German Shepherds
Motivators / Values
Gold Medals = running toward
German Shepherds = running from
BENEFITS |
GOLD MEDAL |
GERMAN SHEPHERDS |
TRADITIONS | Be a part of the tradition | No regrets |
HONOR | Honor is earned and never can be taken away. | No regrets |
EXPERIENCE | The better the experiences the better the life | Don’t miss out. You only get one shot at life. |
TRAINING | Develop, grow, prepare, set yourself apart, diversify. | Employers value diverse training; you will have trouble competing. |
EDUCATION | Must gain a skill or degree to achieve what you want. | Don’t let resources stop you from getting an education. |
ADVENTURE | The ARNG is an ongoing sequence of adventures | You only live once and most other “adventures” are artificial and nothing like what the military offers. |
MONEY | Extra money; full time money; insurance; retirement; car payment | Wear the McDonalds uniform for $$ or the Army uniform for $$$$ |
SERVICE | Pride, Country, giving back; being a part of something | Ever been somewhere whers they asked all those who have served in the military to stand up? Seen how the kids and families respond? |
